FEAR FACTORY To Enter Studio In Early May - Apr. 24, 2005
Los Angeles-based metallers FEAR FACTORY will enter a North Hollywood, CA studio on May 5 with acclaimed producer Toby Wright (SLAYER, ALICE IN CHAINS, PRIMUS, SEVENDUST) to begin recording their new album, tentatively due early fall via Calvin Records. 3volution Productions hired Pierced Productions to shoot a multi-angle video of drummer Raymond Herrera's recording sessions for the album, to be included in a future product release.

FEAR FACTORY's latest CD, "Archetype", came out in April 2004 through Liquid 8 Records. The follow-up to 2001's critically panned "Digimortal" was recorded at Rumbo Recorders in Los Angeles with engineer Ken Marshall (SKINNY PUPPY) and was mixed in Vancouver with Greg Reely (MACHINE HEAD, STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, DEVILDRIVER).

In other news, FEAR FACTORY will be holding an in-store signing session on May 18 at the E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) in support of the new "Rainbow Six: Lockdown" game. Fans will also have the chance to play the new game against FEAR FACTORY. The signing will be held at the convention center in Los Angeles at the Ubi Soft booth beginning at 2:00 p.m.

The "Rainbow Six Lockdown" game and the "Rainbow Six Lockdown" soundtrack both feature two new FEAR FACTORY songs — an original song exclusively written for the game, plus a FEAR FACTORY-ized remake of the original "Rainbow Six" theme.

FF is the shit. Demanufacture and Obsolete were sick albums but Archetype was pretty tight as well. I dig Burton's vocals and Raymond is second to none on the double kicks.

no wait a minute, that's you father. you ain't even tall enough to lick my balls. whenever you felt two soft yet hairy balls wraped in a sack are touching the top of your head, call my name and I let you lick them.
FF is pure nu-metal. they are not even close to what they were once famous for.

i can get into some fear factory stuff i.e. first track off archetype and archetype the song but i always thought these guys were overrated, i mean the only true talent i see in the band is the drumer's speed, guitar:totally downtuned the singer's voice gets annoying at times. But they put on a decent show i guess, but for those who like ff, enjoy

Fear Factory was the first death/metal band to add harmony to the vocals!! Hands down.. The hint of industrial in their music make em one of the best!! Burton, excellent vocals. Dino = good guitarist, but he is just that GOOD, NOT GREAT!! ( other than Digimortal which had a couple good songs) All the albums including the remixes have been fan fucking tastic.. I don't understand how people expect and band to remain the same.. It may make you happy but as an ARTIST and PERFOMER.. it does get boring to do the same shit over and over again.. It is too easy to be a bed room critic!! People expect to much.. Why? Cause you classify yourself as a Metal Head.. or a Metal Fan. Learn how to grow with a band, open your fucking minds and realize music isn't just out there to make you happy. It's out there to make all people happy, and the artists that make it happy.. If that excludes you.. Then fuck ya!! Move on and find something else. Bottom Line FEAR FACTORY RULES!!!
And whoever it was that Called FF Nu Metal.. Your a fucking pillow biting idiot!!

I can't fucking wait till fall! Fear Factory has got to be one of the best bands out there in my opinion. I damn sure know this new album will be fucking great! I noticed most of you people were putting "Demanufacture" and "Soul of a New Machine" as the best albums they made, well I personally think "Obsolete" was the best and the other two were also fucking awesome! All the other albums were good too, but "Obsolete" owned them all. Definatley going to see them with Megadeth this summer!

Archetype disappointed me, but after a few months I realized that it is a correct album after all. I saw FF live last december and they rocked ! They should fire Byron, though, and I think they should stop with the "scream on verse / sing on chorus" gimmick, which is getting old. Look at the songs on Demanufacture, many of them are brutal all the way and this album is one of my all time favorite metal albums.

"and I think they should stop with the "scream on verse / sing on chorus"...but what the hell would they do? It's all they know! And combine that with an unrelenting obsession with concepts involving man and machine and you have the band's entire career covered.

I know that Burton has been doing both kind of vocals since the beginning of FF, I was more talking about the song structures on Archetype. You can sing some parts and be less predictable than that IMO.

Are a great band. I also agree that Obsolete is their best abum, very closely followed by Demanufacture. Archetype was a solid return to form, so I'm looking forward to the next album.
